During the summer months, the weeds are high and fully developed on a lake, and the water temperature continues to climb as the summer’s sun continues to shine down into the water. With water surface temperatures getting as high as 81 degrees, the largemouth bass have been hiding under the thick cover in an attempt to find shade.
If you are heading out to a lake or river to go fishing for largemouth bass, here are three fishing tactics that you’ll want to use to catch largemouth bass out of heavy cover.
One way to catch these bass is by throwing a wacky rigged 5” Impulse Dipstick along weed lines in 4-8 feet of water, the second is to flip a Jungle Jig with a soft plastic craw or creature trailer under docks, trees, or punching in thick lily pads, and lastly, you can throw a the Buzzard Buzzer over the tops of thick weeds just barely breaking the surface of the water.
